We blend the best of traditional and holistic medicine, offering personalized care that is tailored to each individual’s unique needs. From preventive care to advanced treatment strategies, we create comprehensive, customized plans based on the latest scientific research, detailed laboratory testing, and innovative nutraceutical therapies.

As a functional medicine practice, we believe true wellness comes from understanding and addressing the root causes of health challenges. Whether it’s genetics, environmental influences, dietary intolerances or allergies, or imbalances in the immune, nervous, and digestive systems, our approach aims to identify these factors and provide targeted support. By integrating nutrition, supplementation, detoxification, and other evidence-based therapies, we help our patients and their families achieve lasting vitality and well-being.

Meet Dr. Gutierrez

Neuronutrition Associates is committed to helping heal children and prevent disease by focusing on the whole child instead of just the symptoms. We will listen, guide, and assist the parents and patient throughout this process. The path to healing can take time, and we will be here to support the challenges and improvements of each child along their healing journey. We address the root cause of symptoms and treat organically in order to fully restore children to their most healthy being. Our approach includes creating an environment of caring and compassion involving both parents and the child in the treatment plan, and using evidenced-based practice to promote individual health and wellness.

During my doctoral education at Johns Hopkins University, my research was focused on how mainstream clinicians could integrate natural medicine into their patient care. I discovered there is compelling peer-reviewed evidence that supports integrating natural therapies into clinical care. As medical providers, we should be using the best treatment choice for our patients, regardless if it is considered mainstream or alternative.

Hi there! I am Alexis Maple and I have been a member of the Neuronutrition Associates team for over 5 years now. In that time, seeing the incredible effort Dr. Emily Gutierrez has put into her patients and the tremendous outcomes, I developed a deep passion for true health and wellness. I have studied with Oh Baby Holistic Nutrition to achieve my Nutrition Consultant Certification and am studying with Functional Medicine Coaching Academy to become board certified for Health Coaching. When I am not learning all things nutrition and health, I enjoy cooking, reading, gardening with the family, and tending to my chickens! Areas of wellness I am particularly passionate about are preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, and children! I am thrilled to be mentored by Dr. Gutierrez and to help my community and beyond be the best versions of themselves.

    What is functional medicine?

Functional medicine is a biological systems-based approach to treating the root cause of illness by looking at the interactions between the genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors of an individual. By shifting the traditional disease-centered focus of medical practice to a more patient-centered approach, functional medicine addresses the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms.
